Fall(ing) for Color

25 Nov

Let me start off by saying I love Fall. I love Summer too. Who doesn’t like a pedicure and strappy sandals.  But I love Fall. I am not sure why. It could be the warm colors, the State Fair or the cool things you can still do with your wardrobe in the Fall. I am one of those people who steps outside the box by wearing bright colors in the winter. Why not? Just because the weather is deary your wardrobe doesn’t have to.

You could imagine my excitement when Pantone, the authority on color for more than 45 years; came out with its Fall color forecast. And I must say it is something to “Fall” for(get it?, nevermind).  At the start of every season, Pantone unveils their latest color choices for “of the moment” hues in fashion.  Their decision is made by surveying the designers of fashion week to identify the most “directional” colors.  This Fall’s theme: Sensible and Spirited.

Pantone's 2011 Fall Colors

“Designers take a painterly approach to fall 2011 by artfully combining bright colors with staple neutrals, reminiscent of how an artist would construct a stunning work of art,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Much like a painter’s masterpiece, there is a certain romance to this season’s palette.”

What do you think of Pantone’s choices? I love their rich, sophisticated hues. I also liked that the summer “it” color Honeysuckle: a cherry bright pink with a reddish cast remained on the list for Fall which means you can take that same jewelry and merge it in your Fall wardrobe.

You can learn more about Fall 2011′s colors on Pantone’s website.

For example, according to Pantone, the authority on color for more than 45 years; the color of 2011 is… wait for it, wait for it…. “Honeysuckle”- a cherry bright pink with a reddish cast.

I love this! I’ll have to make sure to add some of these hot colors into my wardrobe for sure! living in the NE we have more gray than we know what to do with, and I totally agree, why not add a little flair of brightness to an outfit?!?!
